Hello I am new and I have a question.
Is the front axle bolt on an 84 longer that say 82/83?
I bought a trike for parts and she’s a mismatch.
It’s an 85 m but with to me 84 es front forks. A spare set of forks came with it but they are from an earlier year as they dont have the bottom reinforced welbment. Has anyone got a break down diagram of these years mentioned front forks. I ordered the books but won’t have them for a week. Thanks for any pointers of help in advance.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for the question. The way I understand it is that the front axle from the 1982 Honda ATC 200E BIG RED is different (shorter) than the axle used on the 1983 Honda 200E and 1984 Honda 200ES BIG REDS. As you mentioned the fork design changed in 1983 to a more robust design where the axle passes through. I got some front fork pictures of a 1982 and 1984 BIG RED below.

1984 Honda 200ES BIG RED front fork and axle pics. Note the beefier design as compared to the 1982 model. This extra material requires a longer axle for the 1983 and 1984 model BIG REDS as compared to the 1982 model.
